2018 Lung Transplant Program Review
The UF Health Lung Transplant program finished calendar year 2018 with its most successful year in history. While maintaining quality outcomes above the national average in all categories reported by SRTR, the Transplant program performed 70 transplants (66 adult and 4 peds) which is the most UF Health history for a year. Additional highlights from the 2018 calendar year include:
- Expanding pre-tx clinics in Orlando and Jacksonville
- Adding 3 Lung Transplant Pulmonologist in the past 18 months (Dr. Hassan Alnuaimat, Dr. Christine Lin, Dr. Abbas Shahmohammadi)
- Expended clinical research portfolio
- Expanded business development outreach in the Southeast
- Finishing in the top 10 of all transplant programs for volume for the first time in UF Health history
